Manik Suri is an entrepreneur and investor scaling technologies across AI, climate, and healthcare.
Manik is Founder and CEO of GlacierGrid, a technology startup focused on reducing emissions from refrigeration and air conditioning — vital systems that drive nearly 10% of global warming. Manik also manages Progress Fund, an early stage venture fund that invests in companies building AI for good. Previously, Manik co-founded GovLab, a leading innovation center at NYU that develops technology to improve government.
He has served as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and as an Affiliate at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society. Earlier in his career, he worked at global investment firm D. E. Shaw & Company and served in the White House National Economic Council.
Manik holds an A.B. in Government summa cum laude from Harvard College, an M.Phil in International Relations (Highest Honors) from Cambridge University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
Manik’s journey began at the intersection of curiosity and conscience — shaped by a childhood moving across India and the United States; and between California’s Central Valley and formative years at Harvard College and Cambridge University.
Traveling between farm towns, foreign capitals, and formal Ivy League halls, Manik became deeply aware of the disconnect between systems built to serve the public and the outcomes they deliver.
From a young age, he was drawn to the idea that technology, when applied thoughtfully, could be a force for good.

Manik is the founder and CEO of GlacierGrid, a growth stage climate tech company building systems to reduce the warming caused by cooling — refrigeration and air conditioning — which drive nearly 10% of global emissions. GlacierGrid’s platform powers energy and operational efficiency across thousands of locations, with leading brands including McDonald’s, Domino’s, 7-Eleven, Marriott, and Delta Airlines.
Previously, Manik co-founded The Governance Lab at NYU to reimagine how technology could strengthen public institutions. His career has bridged sectors — from working at the White House National Economic Council to investing at D.E. Shaw & Co. He’s also held academic appointments at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.
