Manik is Founder and CEO of MeWe, a technology startup that builds software to simplify regulation and streamline compliance — making the law more accessible for everyone.
Manik previously co-founded the Governance Lab (GovLab), a civic innovation center at NYU that develops network- and data-driven technologies to transform governance institutions.
Manik is a recent Affiliate at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society and served on the board of Entrepreneurship for America. He earlier held positions at global investment firm D. E. Shaw & Company and the White House National Economic Council. Manik has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and a Truman Security Fellow. He writes on law, technology, and public policy.
Manik holds an A.B. in Government summa cum laude from Harvard College, an M.Phil in International Relations (Highest Honors) from Cambridge University, where he studied as Harvard University’s annual Paul Williams Scholar, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he earned numerous Dean’s Scholar commendations. He is admitted to the California Bar.
Manik has published in leading academic journals, edited volumes, and national media outlets. He speaks Hindi, Spanish, and basic Mandarin.
